“Negotiations” - an original story
Carol Connolly – Facilitator Stories told: Listeners: Business Report: For the December Meeting--One Story, Different Voices. It was decided to do variants of Cinderella and/or original versions based on Cinderella. Also discussed was the Community Storytelling Program Fund Committee. This Committee, using Tellabration profits, offers and awards grants to libraries and other Capital Region venues. Carol Connolly has administered the grant program for 12 years and would like to relinquish this position to another. It was suggested that a committee of three be formed and that the administrator duties could alternate each year, if needed. This is not a big job. It's all accomplished, these days, via email between January and the end of March. Carol has all the letters and forms involved and would email them and the contact info to the new administrator. All that is necessary is to change the dates and do a spreadsheet detailing the applicants when applications are submitted. A single meeting is required. Josepha Sherman The Struggle and Triumph of Jewishness By Theresa Stevens
On Thursday July 24 I was at the at the Sidney Albert Albany Jewish Community Center for Josepha Sherman's appearance. Josepha's speech "The Struggle and Triumph of
Jewishness" was very informative and laced with humor. Talking
to her afterward was also a memorable experience. Her book, "Jewish American Folklore" (1993)
was available for purchase and can be found at local bookstores.
All meetings are held from 7 to 9 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday or Wednesday of the month alternating between Tuesdays in odd numbered months at the William K. Sanford Library and Wednesdays in even numbered months at the Guilderland Public Library.
